The John S. Vitale Community Center
Born December 28, 1965 in Detroit, John Vitale played football at De La Salle Collegiate and for Bo Schembechler at Michigan from 1985 to 1988, then for the San Antonio Riders and the Detroit Drive. He was the last director of the Wolverine Center on Detroit’s east side, and the community center and soup kitchen there now carry his name.
Every Saturday, volunteers serve neighbors from that kitchen. It is the best first shift you can take with Wolverine.
