Latoya Robinson: "Every child needs a loving home, so I would say do it."
Foster and adoptive parent Latoya Robinson on why she got licensed with Wolverine and why she tells everyone to do the same.

Latoya Robinson found out in high school that she could not have children on her own. “I was introduced into foster care and adoption,” she said at Wolverine’s Muffins with Mom appreciation day in May 2026, “and once I got a license, it was up from there.”
Her advice to anyone thinking about it:
Every child needs a loving home, so I would say do it. I am such an advocate for it because you’re helping children come out of situations that even we don’t want to be in. So I think it’s a wonderful opportunity. I think everybody should do it.
Monica Burrell, Wolverine’s Director of Licensing and Placement Services, organized the day so foster mothers could do activities with their own children and the children in their care. “It’s very important for children and parents that they can do activities together,” she said, “to be able to show them that it is a part of learning to be able to build a relationship with their foster parent.”
